Welcome to the 2025 Passion Week Easter Fast.
Welcome to the 2025 Passion Week Easter Fast. Passion Week, also known as Holy Week, is the week leading up to Easter Sunday. It commemorates the final week of Jesus' earthly life - His suffering (the "Passion"), crucifixion, and resurrection.
It is a powerful time of reflection and spiritual renewal for Christians. The call to fasting in this season is not a ritual nor an activity. It is a sobering reminder of the reason for our hope in God and the great reward of spending eternity with God, Jesus and all the company of heaven.
In our focus of ‘Building a Spiritual House’ for our God, it is necessary to be reminded that it is indeed ‘Time to Wake Up’.
Many of us who have been on this faith journey for a while and even new believers, tend to become comfortable and lazy at times. We tend to lose sight or forget the depth of the price that was paid for our salvation. There are warnings in the Bible to let us know that there is no time to relax and take a break. The enemy of our soul and God does not rest, relax or sleep. So why should you? The call for a corporate fast during this week is very apt. It is an opportunity for us not only to draw closer to God whilst fasting but to share in Christ’s sufferings and prepare ourselves spiritually to celebrate His resurrection with renewed faith.
Fasting during this week, shifts the focus from our worldly needs to the eternal, cultivating humility, repentance, and gratitude for the gift of salvation.
You may ask, why fast corporately? Simple. Corporate fasting is a powerful, unifying spiritual practice where believers come together to seek God with one heart and one mind – UNITY IN THE SPIRIT.
Remember, we are building a ‘spiritual house’. Unlike personal fasting, corporate fasting strengthens the collective faith of the church, fostering unity, humility and a deeper sense of community. It aligns us with God’s will as we pray in agreement, creating an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit moves mightily.
Evidences of the power of corporate fasting is demonstrated in the Bible. For example, the citywide fast of Nineveh (Jonah 3:5-10) and the great deliverance for Judah when King Jehoshaphat declared a fast (2 Chron. 20:3-4).
In Matthew 18:19-20, Jesus teaches that when two or more agree in prayer, their requests are heard — fasting amplifies this agreement, inviting divine intervention.
Fasting during Easter holds even deeper significance. This season commemorates Jesus' death and resurrection, the cornerstone of our faith. By fasting, we honour Christ’s sacrifice, setting aside physical comforts to reflect on His suffering, victory over sin, and the new life we have in Him. It is a time to empty ourselves of worldly distractions and draw closer to the risen Saviour, seeking personal and corporate revival.
As we fast and pray together, we believe for breakthroughs in our lives, our families, our church, our businesses, profession, career and our communities. We pray for souls to be saved, for chains to be broken, and for a fresh outpouring of God’s presence.
This Easter, let our united sacrifice be a sweet offering to the Lord, reminding us that resurrection power is alive in us today.

Personal Devotion Time
This day is for your personal prayer time to help you prepare yourself for the journey ahead during the Passion Week Prayer and Fasting time.
Scripture Ref.: John 11: 55; 12: 12-36; Mt. 21: 1-11
On this Sunday, Jerusalem was filled with pilgrims from all over the known world to celebrate the Jewish feast of Passover. As Jesus entered the city on a donkey, the crowd began shouting praises, waving palm branches and throwing their cloaks on the path in front of Him. They were intuitively declaring His rulership without realising it. As we, in this dispensation know the end of the matter which those people did not, let us reflect on this day and consider how we sometimes misinterpret spiritual things to the ordinary and the mundane.
Personal Reflection:
What am I willing to bring to Jesus this week?
Scripture Meditation: Mk. 11: 11-19; Psalm 51:1-13
Holy Monday. On this day, according to scriptures, Jesus did two things. He cursed a fig tree and cleansing the temple, driving out those who turned it into a marketplace. He turned over tables because a scam was being operated in the temple courts. He reminded everyone then and us now that God’s (the Father’s) House should be a house of prayer for all nation. On this first day of Passion week fasting, let this narrative be a reminder that I need to keep my heart pure before God and the world. I don’t want to be found fruitless and unproductive like the fig tree. I must be a lively stone in God’s spiritual House.
Use Ps 104: 1-9 to worship our Faithful God.
Personal Reflection:
How am I expressing my faith walk to the world? Is my faith a scam?
How do you think Jesus would respond if He walked into Church this Sunday?
Use Psalm 51:1-13 as focus for your reflection and prayer.
Prayer Focus:
• Thank God for His Word that reveals His plan and purposes for us and all of His creation (Heb. 4:12-13; Jer. 23: 29).
• Ask a responsive, broken and tender heart (Col. 3: 11-14; 1 Pet. 3:8-10).
• For a fresh revelation of the sacrifice of Passion week (Deut. 29:29; Ps. 25:14).
• For unity and renewal in the Body of Christ.
• Bishop Brooks, Pst. Yvonne and their family (Ps. 32: 7; 121: 8).
• Our nation, our national and local leaders and the economy (Prov. 2: 6; Joel 2:25-27)
• For the peace of Jerusalem (Ps. 122: 6-7).
2025 Declaration: “I am a Living Stone Building a Spiritual House unto Our God”
Scripture Meditation: Mt. 21: 18-46; Psalm 118:1-29
Holy Tuesday. On this day, the disciples were amazed at the sudden wither/ death of the fig tree Jesus cursed the previous day. His response to their surprise was that nothing would be impossible if the believer has and prays in faith. Then He goes again to the temple He had cleansed and begins to teach. On this day, at this juncture, the Lamb is being inspected - the religious leaders and priests confronts Him to prove His authority. Jesus’ response at the end of their interrogation was etched in the very scriptures they were challenging.
Use Ps 118: 1-14 to worship the Almighty God.
Personal Reflection:
Spend quality time today to reflect and examine my faith and obedience. If I am put under scrutiny to validate my faith/ authority in Christ Jesus and my obedience, would I be found wanting?
Read Psalm 118: 22-23. How does this scripture relates to the events in the temple and for you, the Believer?
Prayer Focus:
• Thank God for the freedom we have in Christ Jesus (Jn. 8:36; Gal. 5: 1, 13).
• For strength, endurance and perseverance during this season (Is. 40:31; Phil. 4:13).
• For the various family units (Ps. 91: 1-16; 3 Jn. 1:2; Phil.4: 19).
• For those in leadership position in NewJ (Eph. 4: 7, 11-13; Phi. 2;3-8).

• Bishop Brooks, Pst. Yvonne and their family (Ps. 32: 7; 121: 8).
• Our nation, our national and local leaders and the economy (Prov. 2: 6; Joel 2:25-27)
• For the peace of Jerusalem (Ps. 122: 6-7).

Scripture Meditation: Mt. 26: 14-16; Jn. 13:1-17; 18: 15-27.
Spy Wednesday. Traditionally, today marks the day Judas agreed to betray Jesus. The gospel of John reminds us that Jesus knew that all things were under His power and He was about to leave earth to return to the Father. His next act was to get up from the table to wash His disciples’ feet - even Judas, the betrayer. He then goes further to say that He has given them (and us) an example to follow (vs. 15). Judas was not the only betrayer in His company. Peter was going to deny that he never knew Jesus and all the other disciples were going to abandon Him by running away and hiding so that they wouldn’t be identified with Jesus because they were fearful of having to face crucifixion themselves.
Use Ps 105 to worship our Merciful God.
Personal Reflection:
As I reflect on ‘betrayal and forgiveness’, in what areas or situations I have been the (a) Giver and (b) Receiver? In both circumstances, what have been and is still my response?
Today and in the future, can you say Lk. 23: 34 wholeheartedly?
Prayer Focus:
• Ask for the grace to grasp the forgiveness God offers so I can offer the same to others (Is. 53: 5; 1 Pet. 4: 1, 8).
• For physical, emotional, and spiritual healing (Ps. 147: 3; Jer. 30:17; Ps. 41:3).
• For those in leadership position in NewJ (Eph. 4: 7, 11-13; Phi. 2;3-8).
• For the LOUD Jabula conference (Jn. 16: 13; Is. 61: 1; Ps. 118:25-26).

26: 6-13; 17-30; Mk. 14:22-26
Maundy Thursday - Commemorates the Last Supper, when Jesus washed the disciples' feet and established the Lord’s Supper. The events of this evening demonstrate servanthood, humility, stewardship, faithfulness and communion. Although He knew the outcome of events to follow, it did not phase Him. He ensured that His disciples were at ease and in one accord without revealing the details to them.
Use Ps 89: 1-18 to worship the Covenant-keeping God.
Personal Reflection:
Read this passage: Mt. 26: 6-13. Reflect:
In what ways have I experienced sacrificial love? In what ways have l given it?
Spend time in a reflective/ meditative mode. Ask the Lord what He id what He is saying to you in this season. Journal His response.
Prayer Focus:
• Thank God for His faithfulness to His plan and purposes for His creation (Heb. 6:18; Num. 23: 19).

• For the LOUD Jabula conference (Jn. 16: 13; Is. 61: 1; Ps. 118:25-26).
• Bishop Brooks, Pst. Yvonne and their family (Ps. 32: 7; 121: 8).
• Our nation, our national and local leaders and the economy (Prov. 2: 6; Joel 2:25-27)
• For the peace of Jerusalem (Ps. 122: 6-7).

Scripture Meditation: Jn 18: 1-40; 19:1-42; Is. 53: 1-12
Good Friday - The day of Jesus’ crucifixion and death. It was a sombre day for His disciples and followers but victory for the Kingdom of God. It should be a solemn, reflective day for every Believer as we focus on the price of our salvation.
Before the cross, mankind always had to have a substitute for their sin. But when Jesus came to earth, He was the perfect lamb that took the sins of all mankind because He was the only One that could keep God’s laws perfectly. Now, because of Good Friday, I can be in right standing before God because my faith, hope and future is secured in Christ Jesus.
Use Ps 136 to worship and praise Jehovah God.
Personal Reflection:
At the cross, ‘the work is finished’.
- The cross is a place of equality for all. Therefore, I have a fair chance.
- The cross is a place of revelation – I see the need for a saviour.
- The cross is a place of repentance – I see the need for a change of mind.
- The cross is a place of assurance of redemption – Jesus paid the price.
- The cross is a place of salvation – All things can be made new at the foot of the cross.
Help me Lord to come to the cross and receive all Your free favours.
Prayer Focus:
• Thank God for the victory at calvary (Rom. 8: 1; 1 Jn. 1: 9; Rev. 12: 11).
• Thank God for the strength to complete the fast (Ps. 107: 1-3; Is. 40:29-31).
• Help to prepare our heart for a renewed sense of purpose (Eph. 4:23; Rom. 12;2, 13)

Personal Devotional Time
Today is for your personal prayer time to help you reflect on the insights and revelation received during the past 5-days of corporate Prayer and Fasting.
Holy Saturday is also known as the Great Sabbath. It is the end of the Lenten season, the in-between space. The death of Christ has been remembered but not His resurrection. It marks the day of anticipation, reflection, meditation and preparation as Jesus’ body lay in the tomb (Mt. 27: 62-66). It is the time of quiet anticipation of the resurrection.
Christ Is Risen! THE Tomb is Empty!

Scripture Meditations: Mt. 28: 1-10; 1 Cor. 15: 12-22.
• Easter Sunday - Celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, the cornerstone of the Christian faith (Matthew 28:1-10). It’s a day of victory, hope, and new life.
• Romans 8:11 — "And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living
in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies
because of His Spirit who lives in you.”
Easter Sunday doesn’t finish with Holy week. It is the day that marks the resurrection – a day of hope, thankfulness and joy - the day that brings light, hope and a chance for salvation and eternal life to the world.
